Building your own wooden hand plane is easier than you think and in my last article I took you through the process of making your own blade. In this article we start by preparing the rough blank before cutting out the parts that will be laminated to make up the body of the plane. The work we do now will form the basis for an accurate and easy to set hand tool that will remain useful in your workshop for many years to come.
